What is A/B Testing?
A/B testing (also known as bucket tests or split-run testing) is a randomized experiment with two variants, A and B. It is the process of comparing two versions of a single variable (Eg: web page or email campaign), typically by testing a subject's response to variant A against variant B, and determining which of the two variants is more effective.
A/B Testing with ButterCMS
We recommend layering a third-party A/B testing tool like https://www.optimizely.com/ or https://vwo.com/ on top of ButterCMS-powered pages to perform A/B tests. Butter would provide the "base" version of your site, and the A/B tools would be used to create variants on top of that as well as measure conversion rates.
Getting Started
Simply add your preferred tool's install code snippet to your website template and you'll be able to run A/B tests on all of your ButterCMS content.
